Inner City Helping Homeless – Shoebox Appeal

REA Grimes / EBS are thrilled to announce that we are supporting Inner City Helping Homeless again this year. We had a very successful appeal last year and are delighted to be contributing to this very worthy cause again.

Inner City Helping Homeless are a charity based in Dublin City, set up in 2013 by local members of the North Inner City community as a response to the increasing numbers of rough sleepers. They operate under 2 strands:

  1. Outreach: providing on the ground support to rough sleepers by providing food and hot drinks, clothes, sleeping bags and a listening ear
  2. Advocacy: assisting families and individuals on navigating homelessness, and providing case support where they can

This will be their 5th year running the shoebox appeal, and it has gone from strength to strength each year. They ask the public to donate a shoebox of gifts that will be distributed to the homeless. You can donate a shoebox for either an adult or a child, with a selection of the below:

Please wrap the shoebox and lid separately, and mark as male or female. For a child, please also specify the age bracket:

  • Hats / Scarves / Gloves
  • Underwear / Socks
  • Toiletries: *No aerosols, perfumes, aftershaves, mouthwash or hand sanitizers
  • Christmas Card
  • Chocolate / Sweets
  • Gift Voucher
  • For a child also: Toy / Book / stationery etc

This year they also have another way to donate a box, for people that are cocooning or can’t make it to the shops. You can make a donation via their website and their volunteers will fill a box on your behalf. So if you can’t fill a box yourself, you can still take part!
